Are you fitting comfortably?

How to tell if a bra is a bad fit

Double Bust
Strap riding up at the back
Underwire "digging in"
Centre Gore is not sitting flat against the sternum
Loose fabric in the cups

How to tell if a bra is a good fit

Underband is firm and anchored to the frame giving a true support
Centre Gore is flat against the sternum and completely seperating the breasts
The underwire completely encases the breast tissue around the outside of the breast (under the arm)
The breast sits inside the cup, not overflowing or bulging over the top or at the side
No excess fabric at the end of the cup around the nipple area
The straps are firm but not tight on the shoulder (allowing about an inch lift above the shoulder)

Bridal Boutique

Plan ahead and take your chosen pieces of lingerie with you to your bridal dress fittings.

Remember that you may well be wearing your wedding day lingerie for the best part of the day; this includes sitting for long periods and eating. So it is of paramount importance that you feel comfortable in your lingerie.

Buy your lingerie that flatters your figure and makes you feel most confident. Many suggest that you should buy your lingerie before you buy your dress, but have an idea of the style of dress when you do buy your undergarments.

Daytime Comfort Boutique

Your day time bra is probably worn for much longer periods than any other bra you own. Think about it!!!

Your day time bra needs to be the right fit and doesn't constrict the delicate breast tissue.

Remember that your bra should allow for maximum lymph circulation and delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the breast

Sports Boutique

There are no muscles in your breasts so they need to be kept firmly in place while exercising. Not supporting the breasts may result in discomfort and the breasts having less uplift.

Your sports bra works by supporting the breasts close to the rib cage for maximum support.

If you are curvy on top you do need a good sports bra which offers total coverage which is full in the cup.

Personally I would wear a good supportive sports vest over the top of your sports bra for that extra support.

Maternity Boutique

Wear your maternity bra as soon as possible. Supporting the stretching ligaments is paramount.

Many have recommended that a non-wired bra should be worn to avoid irritation of the delicate breast tissue.

The right comfort and fit is so important as this prevents mastitis and irritation of the delicate changing breast tissue.

If you are going to be breastfeeding and want to purchase a nursing bra, then please consider that your breasts will change dramatically in size once your milk arrives!!! Speaking on experience my breasts increased by two sizes in what seemed to be overnight

Shapewear Boutique

Do not be tempted to buy a garment of shape wear that is one size too small in order to achieve additional support....this never works.

A piece of garment that fits correctly is one that is as comfortable sitting as it is standing.

Move around in your shapewear after you put it on; raise your arms, bend over etc. The garment should stay in place, If not then you need another size.

Post Surgery & Mastectomy Boutique

When purchasing a new bra it is essential that you try it on with your prosthesis. Take your time in the comfort of your own home.

It is always a good idea to get measured professionally, but unfortunately we can not provide that service for obvious reasons.

Buy a bra that fits your good side then fit the prosthesis to match.

You need to feel comfortable and confident as you move around, ensuring that the prosthesis stays in place.

You need to like your bra and feel feminine; this will help to increase your confidence.

Sometimes a front fastening bra will help if stretching to fasten your bra at the back causes too much discomfort
